3D Putting Analysis at The Jim McLean Golf School at Doral Resort and Spa

3D Putting Analysis at The Jim McLean Golf School at Doral Resort and Spa this week.

Our last day with 'The Foz' and our first putting session with young Rafa. An accurate system to look at both the putter movement and body motion.

Three great speakers talking about biomechanics and club delivery at the seminar organized by Prof. Eric Wallace

We had three great speakers talking about biomechanics and club delivery at the seminar organized by Prof. Eric Wallace.

I am sure that the audience were, at times, struggling to piece all of the information together. The practical session in the afternoon was extremely valuable to show how the swing mechanics can influence the club delivery data.

Biofeedback is awesome to change the body (and club) motion.

Tomorrow I head to Northern Ireland to install a new system at Ulster University

Tomorrow I head to Northern Ireland to install a new system at Ulster University. Professor Eric Wallace heads the program there and he has been a key figure in golf biomechanics over the last 20 years.

He regularly does research projects with the R&A.

One of the features that he and I will work on over the next 12 months will be a way to integrate force measurement at the feet via force plates with the 3D motion capture.

One of the biggest challenges will be to ensure synchronicity between the motion capture and the force plate data. The inclusion of this feature will be a huge step forward for anyone who wants to do biofeedback work on weight transfer.

Dr. Paul Hurion (www.quintic.com) has recently joined the Golf BioDynamics Team

Dr. Paul Hurion (www.quintic.com) has recently joined the Golf BioDynamics Team too. With his joining our network, we will now have access not only to a highly qualified biomechanist, but we will be using his insight, knowledge and experience to further refine the putting analysis system that I have developed. Welcome to the team Paul and I look forward to ensuring that our putting system, combined with your video analysis of ball roll, provides the industry with the VERY BEST tools for examining putting technique.

Dr. Rob Neal visit to Polhemus

I was up at Colchester, VT yesterday visiting Polhemus (www.polhemus.com) where I was evaluating the new G4 tracker.

It is very impressive...

I have the SDK now and will begin building an application for it. Testing will commence in August. This new system will allow us to have even greater product range and opportunities to provide biomechanics solutions for golfers, golf professionals and health/medical practitioners who work in the golf industry.

Taking photos over the weekend at Old Palm for the new book coming out from Golf Magazine

Taking photos over the weekend at Old Palm for the new book coming out from Golf Magazine - the full swing is the focus and the format is along the lines of "the Best Putting Instruction Book..". Mike Adams has assembled an all star cast. Rob is contributing with a biomechanical perspective.

Great working with Eden Foster at Calusa Pines in Naples this weekend

Great working with Eden Foster at Calusa Pines in Naples this weekend - combining 3D technology, Trackman and the physical link. Eden is an excellent teacher and all the staff were terrific. Thanks to everyone for a successful event.
